A short introduction to the training course and what it will cover.
The introduction. It is short, but the shape of everything that follows is laid out here.
The whole course is about the oyster mushroom — from a sack of sawdust to a mushroom you can sell. It is not watch-and-done. There is a path through it in order, and every step has a reason behind it.
Two separate lines of work will run: making the food (the sawdust substrate) and making the seed (the spawn). They differ in length and in how delicate they are. They meet at only one point — the planting of the spawn.
It is only an introduction. The real substance is in the lessons that follow and in each module's written explanation. Use this to see the shape of the whole before you go into detail.
If mushrooms are new to you, do not worry yet about the words you do not recognise — mycelium, substrate, spawn, flush. All of them are explained in Modules 01 to 03, and there is a glossary at the back of the book.
Skipping the introduction and jumping straight to the step that looks easiest. Growing mushrooms is a chain — get the first link wrong and the rest is worth nothing.
The whole explanation as a PDF you can print and carry out to the farm — and the full course with it, for one payment.
